This is a blog for busy people lacking in time but not ambition. For those who know the value of their time and want to make the most of every moment.

How Quickly Do You Bounce Back?

How Quickly Do You Bounce Back?

This was me yesterday. I accidentally deleted the blog post I have just completed.

It is a bug in Squarespace that sometimes deletes my text when I press return. I don't know why.

The frustration and annoyance spilled over in the next few minutes. I was snappy with my husband who tried to help me and couldn't believe I had just wasted the only precious time I had that day. It got me thinking.

How long would I let it bother me? And how many other things from the past are still bothering me now?

I mulled over this for a while. Remembering a lot of things that didn't go my way in my life. There have been a few.

Then, like a gift, I saw a link to an old podcast by Janet Murray about failure. If you haven't heard it, I would highly recommend it. Listen to it here.

Within 30 minutes of listening to Jonathan Tilly and Janet Murray talk about their many failures, what they've learnt from them and how they embrace failure, I felt so much better.

I was fired up by this new way of looking at failure or setbacks. Suddenly I wanted to fail more and faster, just to see what I would learn from the experience.

So today, I have been on the serious hustle for a few of the projects I am working on. Some may be successful, some might not. It's a liberating way of looking at things.

I have also thought of a new series. Failure Friday. A chance to review the week and consider, have I failed enough this week? I am setting myself a target, if I haven't failed to achieve at least 5 things each week, I know I haven't stretched myself enough.

I'd love if you joined me. What could you fail at this week?
