Welcome

This is a blog for busy people lacking in time but not ambition. For those who know the value of their time and want to make the most of every moment.

Sunday Inspiration: Sara Allen and Elizabeth Gilbert

Sunday Inspiration: Sara Allen and Elizabeth Gilbert

Happy Easter Sunday.

I love writing my posts on Sunday. I get to reflect on the week and think about the brilliant women who have inspired me.

Sara Allen, Founder, Further & More

I had the pleasure of interviewing Sara for an upcoming blog on job sharing.

Her company, Further & More works with companies and candidates to make job shares happen.

During the interview, she shared how many of the companies she approaches are very receptive to job shares for senior roles. At that moment, I got goose bumps and had a rush of emotion. I suddenly thought what a difference it would make to the career prospects of women if senior roles were open to them.

I am so happy to be able to play a small role in making this a reality.

Elizabeth Gilbert

Liz will not mind if I say I didn’t really enjoy Eat, Pray, Love. I know this because, in her book Big Magic, she shares how she doesn’t care whether people like or dislike her work. I am rereading the book for the second time this week and am finding it as inspirational as I did the first time. I will write a full review of the book soon. In the meantime, here are the three ideas that are most inspiring me this week:

  • Continue to create whether people like what you produce or not. Enjoy the process of creation.

  • Done is Better Than Good. Don’t aim for perfection and never produce anything.

  • Don’t wait for the time to create. Create in any moment you have available, even if it is only 15 minutes.

I can hardly believe that my 30-day challenge will be over in 3 days. I will have written 30 blog posts in 30 days.

I have a list of over 80 blog posts I want to write, a few more guest bloggers and some interviews as well. So I’m not going to stop dead in 3 days time.

However, I will take the time to pause and reflect on where to go next.

I have enabled comments on this post and future posts. I would love to know what you’d love to read, people you’d like me to interview and what you’re most interested in.

Thank you for being so amazing.
